GLADIMIR LOBO

In 2003, with a borrowed down-payment Gladimir Lobo bought his first home in a suburb of Cleveland. It was advertised as a two-family home, and he thought it would be a great opportunity to have a tenant in order to help him pay the mortgage as his mentor had encouraged him to do. After he purchased the home, to his surprise he was informed that it was illegally conformed and that he would not be able to utilize it as a two family without modifications. Additionally, there were major structural repairs that exceeded the amount of funding that he had available.  For months he searched and negotiated with contractors and eventually he was able to complete repairs, all the conformity issues, and upgrades to the home on a very tight budget. He ran advertisements to find tenants but had no clue how to screen them. It was through study, and trial and error that he began to put systems in place to vet tenants, conduct walkthroughs and turn a headache into a profitable opportunity. From there Gladimir purchased his next three homes within a one-year period and learned firsthand the ups and downs of real estate investment in the Cleveland market.

Gladimir continued to buy, rent, and sell homes and after 10 years of in-the-field experience, he became a licensed real estate agent in 2014 in order to offer a full suite of services to clients in the business he created the year prior: Dwelling Network. Because of his knowledge as a renter, homeowner, and real estate professional Gladimir has a keen understanding of the challenges in real estate and it is his sincere goal and objective to make ownership of high-quality properties a reality for more people. He believes that, ultimately, renting as a path to homeownership, renovating homes, and improving neighborhoods can help address the disparities that exists in the United States, and at the same time these solutions can be profitable for investors, making his real estate approach a true example of doing well by doing good.

Susie C. was a relatively new investor in the Cleveland market. Her family owned properties before in other places out of state so she was familiar with property ownership, in general. She was fed up with working with agents who could not advise her as an investor, and therefore, frustrated in dealing with agents in general.
